Tayo is a modern hybrid variety of rye that grows well in our region due its drought tolerance and strong stem strength. It has distinctive nutty flavor and slightly malty aroma that adds depth to any baking application, as well distilling or brewing applications. Use for European-style rye breads or as a vibrant addition to spice up any traditional recipe.

NOTE 1: While this is a modern variety, it is still non-GMO. GMO’s cannot be used in organic agriculture.

NOTE 2: This is not seed-grade. While you can still plant this grain with success, we do not guarantee genetic viability, nor do we test for germination/purity. We often set aside seed for our own planting, which is cleaned differently and germ-tested, but not always.
